The Map
The known world of Shaxal spans from the Frozen Expanse in the north to the Gulf of Ashfall in the south. Three great kingdoms divide the habitable land, connected by mountain passes that have seen more blood than trade.
At the geographic center, the Cathedral of Lairut sits at the convergence of Xandour and Valengor — a structure whose allegiance has never been formally declared, which makes it the most politically significant building in the known world.
The Three Kingdoms
The Verdant Realm · West
The western kingdom of green fields and ancient bloodlines. Home to Mariel Soulstealer, Champion of Xandour. Behind its verdant beauty, the Xandourian royals commission works no kingdom should need — and they know it.
The Ashen Empire · East
The eastern empire built on law and fire. Use of demonic arts is a capital offense — which makes it all the more dangerous that two of its greatest warriors carry demon blood in their veins. Every secret has a cost.
The Shrouded Kingdom · South
The southern realm that speaks little and moves in shadow. Its assassins are already inside the other kingdoms. Its intentions remain unknown to anyone outside its own court — if it has a court at all.
